Guided onboarding users
If you've chosen guided onboarding, you'll work directly with a Guesty specialist through these phases:
Pre-kickoff preparation
Before your kickoff call, we'll send you a Core Onboarding Intake Questionnaire to understand your business, priorities, and current systems.
What you need to prepare:
Tax information
- Gather all necessary tax information before your financials call.
- Determine which taxes should be charged to guests based on your location and business requirements.
- Research relevant tax rates in advance for a smooth setup.
Additional fees
- Prepare information about the fees you want to charge guests:
- Specific amounts and purposes for each fee.
- Whether fees are mandatory for all reservations or optional (add-ons/upsells).

Setup
Complete the essential platform configuration steps to connect your properties, channels, and payment systems.
Set up account settings
Follow the steps below to access and configure account settings:
- Sign in to your Guesty account.
- In the top navigation bar, click the mode selector and hover over Setup.
- From the dropdown, select Account settings.
- From the dropdown, select Billing.
- From the dropdown, select User management.

Create users in Guesty to give your team appropriate platform access. Assign appropriate permissions for cleaners, communications specialists, accountants, and developers.

Import reservations
Fill out our reservation import template with all current and future reservations you wish to add to Guesty.
Note:
Some reservations import automatically:

Airbnb: Reservations older than 1 year from the connection date.

Set up Guesty Booking Engine
Configure your booking engine to enable direct bookings through Guesty. This allows guests to book directly on your website, streamlining the reservation process.
If you're using the custom booking engine API, coordinate with your web developer instead of setting up the standard Guesty booking engine.

Sync calendars and reservations
Each channel has its own completion time to finalize the connection process between Guesty and the booking channel or to link and publish listings.
During connection time, calendars won't sync, so manage incoming reservations directly in your booking channels.
Note:
For channels that don’t have a direct integration with Guesty, you can connect via iCal.

Complete Vrbo integration.
- Manually add all existing Vrbo reservations to your Guesty calendar.
- For new reservations created after integration, you'll need to collect and remit taxes yourself, and Vrbo will no longer process payments (these policies apply to all professional property management software connections with Vrbo).
- Vrbo takes 3-7 business days to complete integration.

- Respond promptly to emails and complete the Vrbo Onboarding Form.
- If not already done, contact Vrbo IPM at +1-877-239-2592, note your Advertiser ID from the Vrbo distribution page.
