Connecting a Rentals United account and listings to Guesty

Rentals United is a channel manager. As a channel manager, it allows you to distribute your listings to multiple booking channels.

Once you're connected to Rentals United, you can choose which booking channels you want to use in the Rentals United dashboard.

Note:

Every channel allows for different levels of connection with channel managers — some channels allow full access, while others only sync calendars and reservations.
Check out the list of all channels you can get exposure to.

 

Connect your Rentals United account to Guesty

Below are the steps of the process to connect your Rentals United and Guesty accounts:

  1. Reach out to your contact at Guesty about adding your listing to more channels.
    You can either contact your Customer Success Manager or contact us.
    If you're opening a support ticket to submit your request to us:
    1. In the "Ticket topic" field, select Booking Channel.
    2. In the "Booking Channel" field, select Rentals United.
    3. In the "Subject" field, type in your request to connect accounts (for example, "Request to connect Rentals United and Guesty accounts").
    4. In the "Description" field, please enter the details of your request.
  2. Once your new Rentals United account has been set up, you'll need to publish your listings to Rentals United (explained below).
  3. Next, you'll have an onboarding meeting with Rentals United, set up by Guesty.
    This meeting will be an introduction and explanation of how to use Rentals United.
  4. The last step is to change your email in all relevant accounts and listings to your Guesty integration email @user.guesty.com in every channel connected to Rentals United (explained below). This change must be done in each channel separately, and not via Rentals United.
    The Guesty integration email is what enables data and communication to flow between Guesty and the connected channels.

 

Note:

Depending on the channels you'd like to connect to, it can take a few days to a few weeks to complete the process. Your Account Manager at Rentals United will be able to provide you with more information.

 

Locate and add your Guesty integration email to Rentals United

You can find your integration email via the Rentals United Integration page in Guesty.
Follow the instructions below to locate and add your Guesty credentials.

Step by step:

  1. Sign in to your Guesty account.
  2. In the top navigation bar, click the mode selector and select Growth mode.
  3. Click Distribution.
  4. Under the Rentals United thumbnail, click Connected accounts.
  5. Click the relevant account.
  6. Copy the Guesty integration email address, located under the "Username & Email" field.
  7. In Rentals United, paste this integration email into the Company Profile "Confirmation Email" field.

Publishing a Rentals United listing in Guesty

Important:

If you already have a Rentals United account with existing listings, please contact us.

You can publish a listing from Guesty to Rentals United at any time.
Follow the instructions below to publish your listings via Guesty.

Step by step:

  1. Sign in to your Guesty account.
  2. In the top navigation bar, click the mode selector and select Operations mode.
  3. Click Properties.
  4. Click the relevant listing.
    If the listing is a multi-unit, each sub-unit must be published as separate listings. Click a sub-unit on the left-hand side first. Learn more about accessing a sub-unit's settings.
  5. In the listing's menu, click Marketing.
  6. Under the "Marketing Channels" field, click Connect to RU.
  7. If you have more than one Rentals United account connected, select the relevant account from the drop-down.

 

Preventing double bookings

Guesty blocks the reservation dates across all other connected channels.
To prevent double bookings, make sure to update your calendar directly in Guesty, and avoid direct changes within the channels themselves.

Please note that the password for your Rentals United account must be exactly the same on both Rentals United and Guesty in order for any data to sync.
If you change your password in Rentals United, you must also update it in Guesty. If not, the integration won't work — which can result in double bookings.
