Creating a listing: Overview

The information in this article is relevant only for Pro users at this time.

You can add listings in Guesty to reflect your physical properties and allow guests to view them before booking a reservation through different booking sources, such as Airbnb or a booking website.

When you create a listing, you need to choose the listing type, and provide some additional information about it.
In addition, we highly recommend reading our Onboarding Checklist: Listings to make sure the listing is set up in a way that works best for you and your business.

Types of listing

Guesty offers 3 types of listings:

  • Single-unit
    A distinct, individual unit.
  • Multi-unit
A group of units that are similar or identical in size and appearance and share the same booking terms.
For example, instead of having 10 similar single-units or apartments, you can create one listing with an allotment of 10 sub-units.
  • Complex
A hotel-like property with different types of listings at the same address.
A complex can be comprised of single units, multi-units, or both.

Note:

Instead of creating a listing from scratch, you can import settings from an existing listing.
Once the listing type is selected, it cannot be not changed. For example, if you created a single unit it can not be converted to multi-unit, and you need to create a new listing as a multi-unit.

After you've created your listing, there are a few additional things to complete—including:
  1. Activate the listing by switching the "PMS features" toggle on.
This will allow you to list your property on booking channels. Guesty billing will start once the PMS features toggle on, as well.
  2. Check that the listing is listed in the booking channels.

To make sure your new listing is set up efficiently, you'll also need to consider some financial aspects—including:
  1. Examine your additional fees and how you'd like to set them up:
  2. If you're using Guesty's Accounting feature, you'll need to assign the listing to a business model.
