Adding a license number to a property in Guesty

Guesty does not take responsibility for the compliance of regulations or the completeness or accuracy of any summary or article relating to regulations. Guesty encourages all property managers to review and comply with all country, state, and city regulations.

Property owners may be required a license to lease their listings in their jurisdictions. Learn where to update your license number below.

Where to add the property license number

Airbnb 

If you're required to have a license and haven't updated it in Airbnb, you'll encounter an error when trying to import or publish listings to Airbnb. In this case, update your license number in Airbnb. Then, retry to connect the listing.

Booking.com

Update your license number in Guesty. If you're required to have a license and haven't updated it in Guesty, you'll encounter an error when trying to publish listings to Booking.com.

Vrbo

You are required to update your license number directly in Vrbo. It is optional to add it in Guesty.

In your Vrbo account, select the listing if you have more than one property. Click Local laws and update your registration details through the Update registration link. Click Edit registration and follow the steps. 

Pilot users: For properties with a “Pending” status that require compliance information to be published on Vrbo, you can add or update the required details directly in Guesty. 

Add your property license to Guesty

We recommend adding your license number to the dedicated field on the property page, rather than in the property description fields. 

Step by step:

1. Sign in to your Guesty account.
2. In the top navigation bar, click the mode selector and select Operations mode.
3. Click Properties.
4. Click the relevant listing.
   If the listing is a multi-unit, you can manage this feature via the multi-unit's main unit, and the settings will apply to all its sub-units. Alternatively, you can configure the settings for a specific sub-unit. Click the main unit or the specific sub-unit. 
5. In the left-side menu, click Details & Layout, then select Owner & license.
6. Click Edit next to "License regulation", and enter the license number under "license number".
   Pilot users for Vrbo: 
   1. Scroll down to “Vrbo license details” and click Edit.
   2. For properties that display “Regulation category”, select Regulation category from the dropdown menu.
   3. Add the relevant information.
7. Click Save.
