What data is synced between Airbnb and Guesty and where to manage it

When you connect your Airbnb listings with Guesty, you can choose how information syncs between the two platforms. The sync type determines where settings and content should be managed to help you keep your listings accurate and consistent.

A listing can be synced between Guesty and Airbnb in one of two ways: Full sync, or limited sync. By default, imported listings are set to full sync. You can set your preferred sync settings when you publish or link a listing. You can switch your Airbnb listing sync settings at any time.

Important:

Making changes to specific content attributes in Airbnb disables your ability to update the same attributes in Guesty, regardless of the sync type. If you change them in Airbnb, they'll be managed in Airbnb. Learn how to unlock Airbnb locked attributes.

Manage rates, availability, reservations, guest messages, and listing content, which includes description, property type, cancellation policy, booking options, and amenities in Guesty.

Any changes made in Airbnb to these settings will be overwritten by Guesty at the next sync.

Make changes to the full address only if you haven’t received a confirmed reservation for the listing. If you have received a confirmed reservation, contact Airbnb Support to update the listing address, or adjust the published address instead. 

In Guesty:

Changes to the listing address within 0.01 km from the current address, excluding "Country", "City", and "Street".

In Airbnb:

  • Changes to the listing address over 0.01 km from the current address.
  • Changes to "Country", "City", and "Street".

Note:

Airbnb offers a "Display exact location" setting to hide a listing's accurate address. Guesty doesn't support this feature. When you connect an Airbnb listing, Guesty overwrites this setting, making the exact location visible to guests.

To hide the exact location, wait until the listing is connected to Guesty. Then, sign in to your Airbnb account and update the "Display exact location" setting directly on Airbnb. Airbnb permits this change because the address is a 'locked attribute'.

Manage the external calendar (iCal)

Not supported.

When a listing is connected between Guesty and Airbnb (either by importing or publishing it), Airbnb disables the iCal connection to avoid conflicting updates. All iCal calendar blocks and notes will be removed from the listing's calendar, and the iCal link will be removed from Airbnb.

Once you approve an alteration request from a guest, or the guest approves your alteration request, the change will be reflected in Guesty and will sync to Airbnb.

Note:

If a reservation is moved to a different sub-unit in a multi-unit, changes will sync to Airbnb but must be updated manually in Guesty.
