You can add variables to Automated Messages, and personalize the message to match your guest and their reservation. 

Each variable acts as a placeholder that is populated/replaced with the information from the reservation in question when the message is sent.

When the message is sent, the variables are replaced by the following details associated with the relevant reservation:

  • The guest's full name
  • The listing's complete address
  • The hosts' first name
For example:
Let's say your name is "Tim Lake", your guest's name is "Jill Ross", and your property's full address is "123 Riverside Lane, Apartment 4".
The bolded variables below will be populated in your Automated Message, and replaced once it's sent to your guest.

Keep in mind that a variable will not work if it is added within another variable. For example, you create a custom variable {{checkindetails}}. The content of this variable must be text only.

If you include a variable such as {{listing_address}} or {{guest_access_code}} within the content of {{checkindetails}}, these placeholders will not be replaced in the message sent to the guest.

For example:
You want to share the listing address and unique Guesty Locks Manager key code, along with additional check-in instructions.
The bolded variables below will be populated in your Automated Message, and replaced once it's sent to your guest.

Important:

Custom variables are only supported for Pro users.

These variables are created by you, using custom fields. We recommend creating a custom variable for any type of information you find yourself sending repeatedly to guests that cannot be found in the list of default variables.
