Updating a guest’s details

When a reservation is received in Guesty, from a channel (including a direct integration) or manually created in Guesty, the guest in the reservation will automatically be saved as a new contact.

You can manually make updates to the guest’s details in Guesty, such as:

 

Before you begin

Below is some important information to know about updating your guest's details:

  • Guests can't be changed in a reservation
    Guests (as well as other contacts in Guesty) are linked with reservations and other data, therefore they can't be deleted.
  • All reservations in Guesty must have one assigned guest
    Once a guest is added to a reservation, they cannot be changed or removed from it.
    If you have different guests, you must create a new reservation under their name(s).
  • Updating a guest’s details will change their details in all the reservations that they're assigned to, as well as, on their contact page

 

Updating your guest's details

Follow the instructions below to update your guest's details via the Contact Page, Inbox, Multi-calendar, or Reservation Page.

Tip:

Guest details can also be added and updated through Guesty's API.

 

Editing via the Contact page

You can use the contact page to view the guest’s details, see their reservations, and track any updates made to their details via the activity log. You can also edit their contact details directly via the contact page.

Follow the steps below to edit the guest’s details.

Pro users Lite users

Step by step:

  1. Sign in to your Guesty account.
  2. In the top navigation bar, click the mode selector and select Guest experience mode.
  3. Click Contacts.
  4. Click the relevant contact.
  5. In the contact profile, hover over the field you want to update and click Edit.
  6. Edit the relevant information.
  7. Click Save.

 

Editing via the Reservation page

Each reservation in Guesty is assigned to a specific guest. You can use the reservation page to update the details of the guest. Follow the instructions below.

Pro users Lite users

Step by step:

  1. Sign in to your Guesty account.
  2. In the top navigation bar, click the mode selector, then select Operations.
  3. Click Reservations.
  4. Click the relevant reservation.
  5. Click the Maximize Screen icon, next to  "Guest”. You’ll be redirected to the contact page.
  6. Click Edit next to the relevant section you’d like to update.
  7. Edit the relevant information.
  8. Click Save.

 

Editing via the Inbox widget

The Inbox widget allows you to edit a guest's details while maintaining complete access to the communication channel with them.

Follow the instructions below to edit your guest's details via the Inbox.

Pro users Lite users

Step by step:

  1. Sign in to your Guesty account.
  2. In the top navigation bar, click the Inbox icon.
  3. From the drop-down, select Guests inbox.
  4. Click the relevant message thread.
  5. In the widget sidebar to the right, click .
  6. Hover over the relevant section and click Edit to the right .
  7. Edit the relevant information.
  8. Click Save.

 

Editing via the Multi-calendar widget

The Multi Calendar provides access to the guest's details in the reservation while allowing you to keep an eye on your calendar availability and booked reservations.

Follow the instructions below to add or edit your guest's details via the Multi-Calendar.

Step by step:

  1. Sign in to your Guesty account.
  2. In the top navigation bar, click the Multi-calendar icon.
  3. Click the relevant reservation from the calendar.
  4. In the widget sidebar to the right, click .
  5. Hover over the relevant section and click Edit to the right.
  6. Edit the relevant information.
  7. Click Save.
