You can move a reservation from one listing to another by making the change either in Guesty or in the relevant channel, depending on where the reservation originated from.

Impact on reservations
- For a reservation in a "Confirmed" status, moving the reservation to another listing will not affect the reservation price, even if the new listing has a lower or higher price. Fees and taxes also remain the same and don't change according to the new listing’s pricing.
- For a reservation in "Inquiry" or "Reserved" status, moving the reservation triggers a recalculation of the price per night as well as fees and taxes.
-
Auto tasks assigned to the original listing are canceled, and new tasks are created based on the new listing's auto tasks setup.
- If Smart Calendar Rules were triggered for the original listing, the blocks remain on connected listings even if the reservation is moved. Contact us to remove the block.
Requirements
To relocate a reservation to a different listing, the destination listing must meet all of the following requirements:
-
Available dates: The listing is available for the reservation dates or has a "flexible" block that can be overridden. The listing's calendar can't be manually blocked (unblock the relevant dates if needed) or have an inflexible block that can't be overridden.
-
Same location: Both listings are in the same city.
-
Same currency: Both listings use the same currency (change the listing's currency if needed).
-
Guest capacity: The listing’s maximum occupancy must accommodate the number of guests in the reservation (change the listing's occupancy if needed).
-
Minimum/maximum nights: The number of minimum/maximum nights set on the destination listing can't be lower than that of the original listing (change the minimum/maximum nights on the destination listing's calendar if needed).
Multi-units limitations
Review the following limitations when relocating reservations within multi-units:
-
Cross-unit restrictions: You cannot directly assign a reservation to a sub-unit from a different multi-unit. Reassign to the multi-unit (mother unit) first, then assign a specific sub-unit.
-
Auto-assigned sub-units: When a single sub-unit can't cover a booking's full consecutive stay, Guesty will block several sub-units. This only applies if the total multi-unit availability can cover the reservation
-
Eligibility for assignment: Only active and listed sub-units show as options for reservation assignment. Unlisted or inactive sub-units are not eligible for booking or reservation management and do not appear in the assignment dropdown.
How to relocate a reservation
Read below on how each channel handles relocating a reservation to a different listing.
Relocate a reservation
The new listing will be blocked in Guesty and the channel, and the block will automatically be removed from the original listing’s calendar on both Guesty and the channel.
Via the channel
See below for information on relocating via the relevant channels.
Airbnb
You can send a reservation alteration request for the guest's approval, asking to move the reservation to another listing. You can only switch the listing to another listing under the same Airbnb account. Alternatively, you can change the assigned listing only in Guesty, and it won't be updated in Airbnb.
Booking.com
Only the guest can change the room in their reservation to another room in the same listing (i.e., a different Room ID under the same Hotel ID). The change automatically syncs to Guesty.
To move the reservation to a different listing (i.e., from one Hotel ID to another), cancel the existing reservation in Booking.com and create it again with the updated listing. The new reservation will then sync to Guesty.

Deactivated listing relocation
When moving reservations from a deactivated or decommissioned listing, create a reservations report of reservations assigned to the deactivated listing to ensure you transfer all relevant reservations.
Mid-stay relocation
You can't relocate an ongoing reservation to another listing.
To overcome this, split the reservation. We recommend shortening the dates of the current reservation, ending it on the day of the split, and creating a new reservation for the second listing, starting from the day of the split until the end of the stay.
Pilot users: Mid-stay relocation allows you to move guests between units during an active direct reservation while maintaining the same reservation ID and confirmation code, without needing to split the reservation. To join the pilot, contact us.
Switching between sub-units in a multi-unit
When a multi-unit is booked, the reservation can be automatically or manually assigned to one of its sub-units.
To maximize your occupancy, by default, reservations can be received for a multi-unit regardless of having a single sub-unit to host the entire guest stay. For example, if the stay can be split between different sub-units, each vacant to host a segment of the reservation, the reservation can be booked. If there is no sub-unit vacant to host the entire stay, the reservation will be received but remain unassigned and will need to be assigned manually. You may also need to rearrange existing reservations within the sub-units to accommodate the new reservation.
To switch reservations between sub-units when the multi-unit is fully booked, unassign a reservation from its sub-unit to create a vacancy on your calendar. Then assign another reservation to the vacant sub-unit and replace it with the unassigned reservation.
