Moving a Reservation to Another Listing

You can move a reservation from one listing to another. Guesty will block the relevant dates on the new listing's calendar, rather than the change being made in the booking channel itself. Follow the instructions below.

Tip:

Before relocating reservations from a deactivated/decommissioned listing to its replacement, we recommend creating a reservation report of reservations on the old listing to make sure you transfer all of the relevant reservations.

Step by Step:

  1. Sign in to your Guesty account.
  2. In the top menu, click Reservations.
  3. Click the relevant reservation.
  4. In the "Summary" section, click the pencil icon.
  5. Remove the current listing by clicking its name under "Listing".
  6. Search for the new listing in the drop-down and note that:
    • If the new listing is a multi-unit, follow these instructions.
    • Listings will appear in the drop-down if they are available on the relevant dates or have a flexible block on those dates, which can be overridden. A "flexible block" means one of the following:
    • Listings will not appear in the drop-down if:
      • The minimum/maximum nights do not match the reservation's number of nights.
      • The listing’s Occupancy is less than the reservation’s number of guests.
  7. Click Save.
Since the dates will still be blocked on the original listing, you will need to unblock them to receive new reservations. In addition, while the dates will still be blocked on the booking channel the reservation came from, they will be unblocked on all other booking channels. This is true for all booking channels except Vrbo; the dates will always become unblocked on Vrbo, and alterations to a reservation will apply to Vrbo within 24 hours. Please note that any listing changes on a reservation will not appear on the UI but will be applied internally on Vrbo. See more information here.

Note:

If the original listing had auto tasks set up, the tasks that were created for the reservation will be canceled and new tasks will be created based on the new listing's auto tasks set up.
