Resolving failed or pending Airbnb listings

When attempting to import, publish, link or reconnect a listing between Guesty and Airbnb, its status will be "Pending" for up to 24 hours until it's "Connected", with an additional 72 hours required for the listing's data, reservations, and guest messages to sync to Guesty.

If the connection is "Failed", navigate to Guesty's self-service dashboard for Airbnb to identify and resolve syncing issues independently.

Alternatively, use the troubleshooting guide below to identify and resolve the issue.

Basic checklist

Ensure your listing is configured according to the following checklist:

  • Check that your Airbnb account is in “Connected” status in the Airbnb integration page in Guesty. If the status is “Not connected”, reconnect the account.
  • Ensure your listing’s settings match all requirements mentioned for the connection process you used for importing, linking, publishing, or reconnecting the listing.
  • Register or verify your property on Airbnb. This process may include submitting identification documents, providing valid permits, and proof of address. If your status is still pending after you’ve verified your listing on Airbnb, contact us.

Failed listings

If the connection process fails, the listing status will display “Failed” on the Airbnb integration page in Guesty.

Follow the instructions below to resolve a failed status if an error message is displayed.

Solve issues using the self-service dashboard

  1. Locate the following actions along with the Listing ID in Guesty: publish_listing, import_listing, or reconnect_listing.
  2. Click the dropdown arrow next to the relevant entity ID to learn more about the error and how to solve it.
  3. Navigate to the Airbnb integration page in Guesty to reconnect the listing.

Solve issues using the integration page errors

If you are unable to find the solution via the self-service dashboard, follow the steps below to solve the issue.

Step by step:

  1. Sign in to your Guesty account.
  2. In the side navigation menu, click icon Marketing and sales to open the dropdown menu.
  3. Under Channel management, select Distribution.
  4. Click the Airbnb thumbnail.
  5. Click Connected listings.
  6. Locate the failed listing and hover over the error on the far right to view additional details.
  7. Follow the instructions if any are displayed (for example, click Fix now, or contact Airbnb when directed). Once done, click the Failed status on the integration page, and select Retry.

Pending listings

Before attempting to resolve a pending listing, check your notifications in Airbnb for violations or validation requests.

If the listing on Airbnb displays "Pending" while Guesty shows a full connection, unlist or relist the property in Guesty to sync the status.

Common errors and troubleshooting

Find and resolve common errors for failed and pending Airbnb listings below.

Address and location issues

  • You cannot publish your listing until you have confirmed your address.

    Verification is triggered during onboarding, address changes, or regulatory checks. Sign in to Airbnb to confirm your address. Then return to Guesty and click Retry.


  • Apt cannot be null

    The apartment number is missing from the listing address. Add the apartment number in the address field in Guesty (if publishing) or Airbnb (if importing).


  • Lat and lng specify values too far away from your address

    Geo-coordinates are inconsistent with the listed address. Correct coordinates in Guesty to match the physical address.


  • You can't change your listing's address once you've started receiving reservation requests...

    Airbnb doesn't allow address changes after receiving reservations. Contact Airbnb Support to update your listing address.


  • Once a listing is verified, major address changes aren't allowed...

    Unsupported listing address changes were detected after verification. If you made changes during the connection process, contact Airbnb support. If no changes were made, contact us.


Content and formatting errors

  • You cannot publish your listing until your account info is added.

    This occurs for new users who haven't finished setting up their profile or providing required identification. Sign in to Airbnb to complete setup. Once done, return to Guesty, locate the listing on the Airbnb integration page, and select Retry.


  • We can't save your info yet. Links and contact info can't be shared

    Text fields contain forbidden content like emails, links, or emojis. Titles, descriptions, and house rules must adhere to Airbnb's content policy. Update the content in Guesty (for publishing) or Airbnb (for importing).


  • All caps isn't allowed in listing titles

    The title is in all uppercase letters. Update the listing title to use standard casing.


  • ...property_type_category must be one of [...]

    The Airbnb property type is not supported by Guesty. Change the property type in Airbnb to one of Guesty's supported types.


  • added_details' exceeds 300 characters.

    The "Add helpful details for your guests" description exceeds the 300 character limit. Update the description and select Retry in Guesty.


Photos and media issues

  • Photos length not less than minValue / Request entity too large

    No photos were detected or the files are too large. Re-upload your photos. Upload at least one photo (max 1920x1080, 4MB).


  • Accessibility features require at least one photo...

    An accessibility feature was added without a verification photo. Add a photo for the feature or disable it directly in Airbnb's Listing Editor under "Your space".


  • This amenity is under review; no photo uploads or deletions are allowed.

  • You are trying to modify photos assigned to an amenity currently under review by Airbnb. Wait until Airbnb finishes their review process before attempting changes.

Listing status and sync errors

  • Your listing is currently suspended due to listing issues or cancellations.

    Suspensions occur due to reported quality issues or host cancellations. Contact Airbnb Support to resolve. Once done, return to Guesty and select Retry.


  • The listing is in an area requiring specific permits or local rule consent. Sign in to Airbnb to complete these requirements, then select Retry in Guesty.


  • Listing is deleted. Error code: HTTP_RESPONSE_ERROR

    The listing was deleted on Airbnb. Follow the instructions to publish the listing from Guesty.


  • Unfortunately, this listing is no longer available / You do not have permission...

    The listing doesn't exist on Airbnb. Click the sync icon on the integration page and refresh. If the listing is removed, proceed to publish it as a new listing.


  • You can't reconnect... this listing is already connected...

    The Guesty listing is already linked to an Airbnb ID. Unlink the listing before trying to reconnect.


  • 403 error API token is outdated

    The Airbnb listing ID is invalid or outdated. Click the sync icon on the integration page and refresh the page to clear the outdated ID.


  • A listing with the nickname you chose already exists.

    The nickname of the imported listing matches an existing one in Guesty. Locate the listing and select Retry, or disconnect and re-import the listing.


Listing settings and policy violations

  • Update failed. Can't add a shared room to an entire home listing.

    Shared rooms are incompatible with "Entire home" listing types. Remove the shared room and then select Retry.


  • hours must be [0,24] inclusive or 48, 72, 168.

    The advanced notice setting isn't supported by Airbnb. Adjust the setting to a supported value (None, Same day, 1, 2, 3, or 7 days) and select Retry.


  • You need to register your place before you can list it.

    Your jurisdiction may require a license. Add your license details to Airbnb or check Airbnb's responsible hosting guidelines for your region.


  • allows_pets_as_host... should be enabled before setting PASS_THROUGH_PET_FEE

    A pet fee was set while pets are disabled in the settings. Enable pet support for the listing.


  • Based on your cleaning fee of 'X', the minimum nightly price... is 'Y'.

    The cleaning fee doesn't comply with Airbnb's rules relative to the base price. Update the cleaning fee or base price to ensure the fee is under $600 or complies with the 25% rule for higher prices.


  • Invalid cancellation policy

  • "Firm" policies are not supported in Italy. Disconnect the failed listing and update the policy to a supported type before reconnecting.

Fee, pricing and occupancy

  • Choose a minimum stay less than that [maximum stay].

    The maximum nights per stay are lower than the minimum nights. Update the maximum or minimum stay in Guesty or Airbnb.


  • Please use a guests included number of at least 1.

    The extra person fee setup requires at least one guest included. In basic fees, adjust the 'For each guest after' value to 1 and save.


  • Please use a value between X and Y

    Fees (like pet fees) cannot be higher than the base price. Check your basic and additional fees and adjust them to stay within Airbnb's allowed range.


Multi-unit / sub-unit conflicts

  • One of this listing's units is already connected...

    To publish a multi-unit, you must first disconnect any individually connected sub-units from Airbnb.


  • The listing doesn't have any beds. Please edit in 'space arrangement'...

    A sub-unit failed to inherit space data from the multi-unit. Modify any room name in the multi-unit's arrangement to trigger a fresh data sync across all sub-units.
