Disconnecting, unlinking, or reconnecting an Airbnb listing

You can connect a listing between Guesty and Airbnb in the following ways:

  • Import your Airbnb listings to Guesty (Pro users), or connect your account and import your listings to Guesty (Lite users).
  • Publish (“push”) your listings from Guesty to Airbnb (Pro users only)
  • Link (“map”) your existing Airbnb listings to your existing Guesty listings (Pro users only).
  • Reconnect a disconnected listing to Airbnb (described below).

There are different ways to disable a connected listing in Guesty.

Follow the instructions below to disconnect, remove, unlink, or reconnect an Airbnb listing.

Disconnect or remove an Airbnb listing

You can disconnect a listing from Airbnb to stop the data syncing between Guesty and Airbnb. Once the listing is disconnected, any updates to its settings in Guesty won’t be pushed to Airbnb (and vice versa). Also, you won't receive new reservations or messages in Guesty. However, the listing will remain active in Guesty, and billing for it continues.

A disconnected listing will also remain active on Airbnb. You can delete it on Airbnb (if needed), and the listing will instantly be disconnected from Guesty. Also, the listing will be removed from the integration page upon the next account syncing.

You can reconnect a disconnected listing at any time, or permanently remove a disconnected listing from the integration page. Follow the instructions below or watch our video.

Before you begin

  • Unassign the listing from any active promotion before disconnecting the listing from Airbnb. Otherwise, syncing issues may occur when reconnecting it to Airbnb.
  • A listing can be suspended or paused by Airbnb if it violates Airbnb’s Trust and Safety concerns or other policies. In this case, the listing remains active and connected in Guesty, and billing for it continues. The listing won't be bookable on Airbnb but will be shown as listed in Guesty. Contact Airbnb Support for further assistance.

Unlink a Guesty listing from an Airbnb listing (Pro users)

Once a listing in Guesty is connected to a listing in Airbnb (either by publishing, importing, or linking), they become "associated" with each other, having their data ready to be mapped between the two platforms once the connection is live (i.e., the listing on the integration page is in "Connected" status). When the connection is off (i.e., the listing on the integration page is in "Disconnected" status), the syncing between the platforms is ceased. However, the "association" between the listing in Guesty and the one in Airbnb remains.

To see if a Guesty listing is linked with an Airbnb listing (regardless of whether the connection is live), check the "Listing in Guesty" column on the integration page. The listing's nickname in Guesty will appear when the listing is linked, and if the listing is unlinked, a "No listing is connected" indication will be displayed.

Follow the instructions below to unlink a Guesty listing from an Airbnb listing. First, you'll need to disconnect the listing. If the listing is already in “Not connected” status, refer to step 8.

Step by step:

  1. Sign in to your Guesty account.
  2. In the top navigation bar, click the mode selector and select Growth mode.
  3. Click Distribution.
  4. Click the Airbnb thumbnail.
  5. Click the relevant Airbnb account.
  6. Next to the relevant listing, click Connected.
  7. From the dropdown menu, select Disconnect.
  8. Once the listing status changes to “Not connected”, click the status and select Unlink from the dropdown menu.

The listing’s status on the integration page will change to “Not connected”. Also, under the "Listing in Guesty" column, a "No listing is connected" indication will appear. Allow 24 hours for the status to update.

Reconnect a listing to Airbnb

You can easily reconnect a disconnected listing at any time.

The listing's sync setting (Full sync or Limited sync) will be restored to the same type you originally set. Pro users can change the sync settings once the listing is connected.

Past reservations, made while the listing was disconnected, will be pulled to Guesty upon reconnection, with partial or outdated financial information. Contact us to retrieve their correct financial data. Also, Guest messages will be imported to Guesty, and be added to the Guesty Inbox as “Unread”.

Follow the instructions below to reconnect an Airbnb listing to Guesty.

Before you begin

  • The listing on Airbnb must not be deleted.
  • The listing must be listed in Guesty before reconnecting it.
