Unable to connect a listing to a channel due to an incomplete address

When creating a property in Guesty, you set its full address. You can later adjust the address and add more information. A partial property address, such as when there is no street name or zip code, can cause issues when connecting to channels such as Airbnb or Vrbo.

To overcome this, use the property’s coordinates as the address. Convert the coordinates to a coded form and use them as the street name. Follow the instructions below.

Step by step:

  1. Retrieve the property’s location coordinates from Google Maps. When you find the right spot on the map, hold down the mouse. A pop-up will appear with the coordinates of the spot as a hyperlink. Click the link.

  2. In the left sidebar, hover over the plus code, then click Copy text icon to the right.

  3. Sign in to your Guesty account.
  4. Pro users: In the top navigation bar, click the mode selector and select Operations mode. Then, click Properties. Lite users: In the top navigation bar, click Listings.
  5. Click the relevant listing. Pro users: In case of a multi-unit or a complex, navigate to the multi-unit or complex main unit page.
  6. In the left-side menu, under "Details & layout", click Location & details.
  7. Next to "Full address", click Edit.
  8. Select Full address.
  9. Paste the coordinates you copied, and select the suggested result from the search results.

The address fields will be populated accordingly.

  10. Click Manual override.
  11. Under “Street and number”, paste the coordinates you copied again.

The “Street and name” field will be populated with the abbreviated coordinates (for example, VRH8+XV5) and with other parts of the address, such as the city, state, and country. Relocate the latter to the designated fields of “City”, “Country”, and “State”, keeping only the abbreviated coordinates under “Street and number”. If the “Zip code (Postal code)” field is empty, use “0000”.

  12. Click Save
  13. Retry to connect the listing to the relevant channel.
