Managing your Expedia listings alongside your Guesty listings is made simple through integration. Upon creating an Expedia account, you can seamlessly sync your Expedia listings with corresponding listings on Guesty, streamlining management within a single platform.
Your Expedia account will not be connected to Guesty, only the listings you link to will be shared. additionally, the functionality to directly publish listings from Guesty to your Expedia account is currently unavailable.
This guide will walk you through the steps to link your Expedia listings with Guesty.
Before you begin
Before initiating the integration process, ensure the following prerequisites are met.
- Confirm that your Expedia account is active and that you have at least one property listed.
- Set Guesty as the Property Management System (PMS) on Expedia Partner Central. If you manage more than 20 properties, contact us for assistance with setting up Guesty as the PMS for all of them simultaneously.
- Create the corresponding listings in Guesty. If you're managing a complex on Expedia, make sure it's also set up as a complex in Guesty before proceeding with the integration.
- Double-check that all properties are configured with "tax exclusive = true" and "tax inclusive = false" in the rate settings on Expedia. Contact your Expedia Account Manager or Expedia Support in order to ensure that the property has the correct settings.
- Verify that the currency of your Expedia account matches the currency of your Guesty listing. If needed, you can update the listing’s currency in Guesty.
- Set up your Guesty integration email on Expedia to receive messages directly in your Guesty Inbox, streamlining communication and management.
Link an Expedia listing to Guesty
In order to link an Expedia property to Guesty, you'll need to select a listing, connect it to Guesty, and select a rate plan or cancellation policy.
Step by step:
- Sign in to your Expedia account.
- Retrieve the Expedia property you want to link. This is known as the "hotel ID" on Expedia Partner Central.
- Sign in to your Guesty Account.
- In the top navigation bar, click the mode selector and select Growth mode.
- Click Distribution.
- Click the Expedia thumbnail.
- Enter the Expedia property ID you copied in step 2.
- Click Next.
- Match the Expedia listing to the corresponding listing in Guesty.
When matching a complex, select the relevant Guesty listing or click Create new.
- Click Connect.
Once an Expedia unit is linked, it can take up to 30 minutes for the listing to update on Expedia, and you'll still need to manage certain aspects from Expedia. - Click Next.
- Select either Rate plan or Cancellation policy and select the relevant option. You'll need to do this even if you already have a rate plan assigned in Expedia. You can click Create rate plan to create a new rate plan. For complexes, you'll be able to choose one cancellation policy that will apply to all sub-units. You can then visit the "cancellation policy" section on the listing's page, and change it for each sub-unit.
- Click Link property to Guesty.
Important:
Any Expedia room that is not linked to a Guesty listing by the end of this process will be deactivated on Expedia until it is linked.
Every listing must have an active rate plan or cancellation policy in order to be bookable.
