Adding a payment method to a reservation is the first step of collecting a payment from your guest. Learn about all available reservation changes and updates you can make.
Follow the steps below to add a payment method to a reservation.
Step by Step:
- Sign in to your Guesty account.
- In the top navigation bar, click the mode selector, then select Operations.
- Click Reservations.
- Click the relevant reservation.
- Click Balance Due / Payout in the grey banner at the top of the page.
- Scroll down to the "Payments" section.
- To the right of "Payments", click More actions, then Add payment method.
- In the pop-up, fill in the relevant information.
- The only optional field is "State".
- Be sure to enter an actual address. Entering "NA" may prevent the validation of the created card details and lead to failed/disputed payments.
- Click Add new payment method.

Assign a payment method to a payment
Whenever there are existing payments for a reservation, simply adding a new payment method to the reservation is not enough. You need to edit the existing payments to update the new credit card, or cancel and recreate them with the new credit card. Read how in this article.
Make sure the payments are charged
