Communicating with owners using the Owners Inbox

Use the Inbox to view owner reservations and message owners regarding their reservations or guest reservations related to their properties.

View owner communication in the Inbox

The Owners' Inbox displays conversations and automated messages linked to owner reservations, including reservations for friends and family.

Note:

Guesty admin users and those set to receive system emails will also receive a notification by email.

Inbox labels and tags

Review the tags below to identify different types of owner communications:

  • A "Guest reservation" label indicates communication with an owner about a guest reservation.
  • No label indicates communication with an owner about an owner's reservation or a reservation made for friends or family.
    • Owner reservations feature a key logo on the contact icon and display "Owner" alongside the owner's name.
    • Owner reservations made on behalf of friends and family don't display a specific logo or label.

Communicate with owners

Follow the instructions below to view the confirmation of an owner's reservation and communicate with owners about their reservation or a guest's reservation on their property.

Step by step:

  1. Sign in to your Guesty account.
  2. In the side navigation menu, click Inbox.
  3. In the Inbox submenu, click the Owners Inbox button to access the Owner's inbox.
  4. Under "All conversations" to the left, click the relevant thread.
  5. At the bottom of the page, click Type your message here and enter your message.
  6. Choose whether to send an email or to write an internal note for you and your team.

A confirmation message is displayed as an internal note in the center panel. You can view information in the Inbox widget on the right.

Pilot: Send a direct message to an owner

Owners can access the Owners' Inbox in the Owners Portal, using the desktop version and the Owners by Guesty app, where they can enable notifications for new messages.

Follow the steps below to send a message directly to an owner that is not related to a reservation.

Step by step:

  1. Sign in to your Guesty account.
  2. In the side navigation menu, click Inbox.
  3. In the Inbox submenu, click the Owners Inbox button to access the Owner's inbox.
  4. At the top, select the Direct tab.

  5. Select an existing conversation thread or click to compose a new message. You can search for an owner by name.
  6. At the bottom of the page, click Type your message here and enter your message.
  7. Choose the communication method: email, the Owners Portal, or leave an internal note.
  8. You can include attachments in messages sent via email.
    1. To add an attachment, click
    2. In the pop-up, select whether to upload a file from your computer or from your Google Drive.
    3. Select the file and click Upload.
  9. Click Send.

Filter and organize your Inbox

Next to the search bar, click , select the relevant filters, and click Apply. You can filter by message status, assignees, reservation status, listing tags, listing cities, listings, check-in, or check-out.

For message status, check the View only unread messages box to view unread messages.

Tip:

Mark messages as Read or Unread to organize your Inbox. Click at the top-right corner of the relevant thread.
