Changing the number of guests in a reservation

You can change the dates of a reservation in Guesty or the reservation channel of origin, depending on the channel.

General limitations

For a reservation in a Confirmed status, changing the number of guests will not affect the original reservation price ( i.e., the price per night will remain the same). An extra person fee may apply (if it is set). Also, other fees or taxes charged per guest will be recalculated according to the updated number of guests.

For example, a listing has an occupancy limit of four, and an extra person fee of $25 applies for additional guests beyond the first two. A reservation is confirmed for two guests for two nights at a rate of $30 per night. If a third guest is added, the nightly rate remains $30, but an extra fee of $25 will be applied. Other fees and taxes calculated per guest will adjust according to the updated number of guests, while those applied per stay or night will not be affected.
A reservation in Inquiry or Reserved status does not benefit from locked prices. Changes to the reservation will cause a recalculation of the nightly price (they will be updated to the current nightly rates) as well as of any fees and taxes.

Where to change the number of guests in a reservation

You can change the number of guests in a reservation via Guesty or the channel according to the information below.

Booking.com	Via the channel or Guesty	After check-in, you can change via Guesty only once every 24 hours. Before check-in, or if less than 24 hours have passed since your latest change, alter the number of guests via Booking.com. If you wish to change the reservation price as well, check if you manage your Booking.com payments with a Booking.com payment solution. If you do, change the price via the Booking.com Extranet. If you manage payments on your own, you can change the reservation price via Guesty.

Change the number of guests in a reservation via Guesty

Step by step:

Sign in to your Guesty account.
In the top navigation bar, click the mode selector and select Operations mode.
Click Reservations.
Click the relevant reservation.
For Airbnb reservations, click , then select Edit reservation. For other reservations, click .
Under "Guests", use the arrows or click the current number of guests to enter a new one.
At the top of the page, click Change.
If a "Payout" pop-up appears, fill in the relevant information. If you don't want the accommodation fare to be recalculated based on the new number of guests, use the arrows to the right of "Accommodation fare" to adjust the total accommodation fare (and not just the price difference). Otherwise, the reservation's prices will be recalculated, and the accommodation fare will be updated accordingly.
Click Alter reservation.

A record of all changes to the accommodation fare will appear in the guest folio's nightly breakdown. If the number of guests is changed after check-in, the VAT price difference, for example, will appear on a separate line item in the folio, under the original VAT.
