Guesty automatically creates owner statements with a summary of revenue, expenses, and payments related to an owner. If you add or remove transactions after an owner statement is automatically generated, regenerate the statement to update it.
Follow the steps below to regenerate a single statement or multiple statements at once.
Tip:
You can regenerate an owner statement only after it has been automatically generated. To manually generate a statement, for example, to preview it, follow these instructions.
When to regenerate an owner statement
Regenerate an owner statement if you make a change to a particular month's statement after its automatic generation date (usually the first of the month).
See some examples below of changes that require regenerating a statement. Assume the owner statement period is from September 1 to September 30.
- Example 1: You adjust a reservation’s guest folio for an extra charge or a partial refund on October 5, after the statement was generated on October 1. Regenerate the October owner statement to ensure it reflects the reservation's updated financials.
- Example 2: You add an owner charge for $500 on October 10 and date it for September 17. Because the charge's effective date is in September and the statement was already generated, regenerate the September owner statement.
- Example 3: You want to remove an owner expense of $100 that was automatically included on the statement. First, reverse the transaction from the posting journal, then regenerate the owner statement.
Regenerate owner statements
Step by step:
- Sign in to your Guesty account.
- In the side navigation menu, click
Accounting to open the dropdown menu. - Under Owner accounting, select Owner statements.
- Click the checkbox to select one or more owner statements.
- In the header that appears above the table, click Regenerate.

Once the regeneration process is completed, the statement(s) will go back to "Pending" status with a generation date of today. Learn more about viewing, approving. and flagging owner statements.
Important:
If you previously shared the owner statement through the owner's portal and then regenerate the statement, the updated version is automatically shared on the owner's portal.
If you previously shared the owner statement by email and then regenerate the statement, the updated version is not sent automatically by email.
Bulk regeneration limitations
When regenerating multiple statements, allow additional time for processing during heavy demand periods, such as the last day or the first day of the month.
For faster results, run bulk statement regeneration during off-peak hours or regenerate a single statement at a time.
If a statement in the bulk regeneration does not fully reprocess, its status changes to "Regeneration failed":
Simply follow the steps above to regenerate the statement again.
