What data is synced between Booking.com and Guesty and where to manage it

You can connect your listings with Booking.com either by linking Guesty listings to existing Booking.com listings or publishing them to Booking.com. Published listings use a full sync connection type by default, while linked listings default to rates & availability sync. You can manage your Booking.com listings, reservations, guest communication, and tools according to the relevant connection type.

Check the connection type

Follow the instructions below to check the listing's connection type. 

Step by step:

  1. Sign in to your Guesty account.
  2. In the top navigation bar, click the mode selector, then select Growth mode.
  3. Click Distribution.
  4. Click the Booking.com thumbnail.
  5. In the Booking.com integration page, locate the relevant listing's row. Then, check the connection type that appears under the "Connection type" column.

Manage data according to the connection type 

Refer to the list below to determine where to manage data based on the connection type. Whenever possible, we recommend managing your data in Guesty, unless stated otherwise.

Data syncing between platforms should occur instantly without delays. If data isn't synced, manually adjust the settings in the platform that was not synced to maintain consistency.

You can set your listing address in Guesty upon the initial publish, and only if the listing's status in the Extranet is "XML: Being Built".

After the initial publish, make changes in Booking.com.

Set the listing title

You can set the listing's title in Guesty during the initial publish. Learn more about title restrictions.

After the initial publish, make changes in Guesty if the listing's status in the Extranet excludes the following:

  • "XML: Ready to check"
  • "XML: Ready to open"
  • "Closed Post Legal"
  • "Closed forever"
  • "XML: Hotel is Duplicate"

Set the listing description

You can set your listing description in Guesty upon the initial publish, and only if the listing's status in the Extranet is "XML: Being Built".

After the initial publish, make changes in Booking.com.

Set the listing images

In Guesty

  • It is recommended to use landscape images (i.e. horizontal) with a minimum resolution of 2048x1080 pixels. Images with a resolution of 4000x3000 pixels render best results.
  • Booking.com displays a maximum of 45 photos.

  • "Closed Post Legal"
  • "Closed forever"
  • "XML: Hotel is Duplicate"

After the initial publish, make changes in Booking.com.

Security deposit

Set the initial security deposit with relevant charge and return policy settings in Booking.com.

Once set, manage in Guesty.
