You can apply various types of price reductions to reservations. Some pricing tools directly adjust the accommodation fare, such as a rate strategy, Guesty PrizeOptimizer, rate plans, third-party tools, and weekly or monthly discounts. Learn about the functionality of these tools and how they interact in using pricing tools to optimize rates.
Other price reductions, like promotions and coupons, are applied on top of the accommodation fare. These typically appear as separate line items on the booking check-out page and the guest folio (invoice). This article focuses on applying multiple "on-top" price reductions, including promotions and coupons, and how they interact with lower-level adjustments, such as rate plans and weekly or monthly discounts.
Multiple types of price reductions can be set for the same listing, and in some cases, applied to the same reservation.
Applying multiple promotions to the same reservation (Pro users)
You can set promotions in Guesty for Airbnb, Booking.com, Expedia, direct booking sources, and manual reservations.
You can set multiple promotions on the same listing, but in most cases, only one will be applied to a single reservation. The applied promotion depends on the booking channel's rules. Refer to Applying multiple promotions to a single reservation.
Applying multiple coupons to the same reservation (Pro users)
Coupons can only be applied to direct or manual reservations. You can set up multiple coupons on a listing, but only one coupon can be applied to each reservation.
Combining promotions, coupons, and weekly and monthly discounts
If multiple types of discounts are applied, they will either stack or override one another, according to the specific channel.
Manual & direct
For manual and direct integration sources, promotions can be combined with coupons, weekly discounts, and monthly discounts.
If a reservation is eligible for multiple types of discounts, the weekly or monthly discount will be applied first, affecting the calculation of the accommodation fare. Then, coupons and promotions will be applied one after the other.
For example, the accommodation fare is $5254 after applying a weekly discount. The price was further reduced by a 10% coupon and a 10% promotion, resulting in an accommodation fare of $4255.74.
Airbnb
Airbnb considers weekly and monthly discounts the same as Length of Stay promotions (both referred to as “Length of Stay Discounts” in Airbnb). If you set a weekly/monthly discount and a Length of Stay promotion to the same listing in Guesty, the weekly/monthly discount will automatically be deactivated for the listing.
In addition, if you set weekly or monthly discounts in Guesty, they will override the Length of Stay "discount" set in Airbnb (but will not affect Early Bird or Last Minute discounts in Airbnb).
You can combine Early Bird or Last Minute promotions with weekly or monthly discounts in Guesty.
You can apply a non-refundable discount in addition to a listing's cancellation policy (but not for a Super strict policy, or a listing located in Italy). The discount will be applied on top of additional price reductions applied to the reservation. You can add a non-refundable discount on the listing's cancellation policy settings.

Combining promotions and rate plans
Booking.com
When a rate plan and a promotion are applied to the same Booking.com room:
- If both have a different minimum number of nights restrictions, the minimum nights on the promotion will override the rate plan's minimum nights. If the promotion doesn't have a minimum nights restriction, the minimum nights on the rate plan will be used. For example, the minimum length of stay in a rate plan is 30 days for a listing. In addition, an Early Bird promotion is applied to the listing, with a minimum of 7 nights restriction. If a guest searches for a room in the listing for 7 days, the room's price will include the promotion's price reduction.
- If the rate plan and the promotion have different excluded dates, the most restrictive limitation will apply.
