Creating a Guesty Booking Engine (Booking Website for Lite users)

Guesty Booking Engine (Booking Website for Lite users) is our direct booking solution, allowing your guests to browse your available listings and book their reservations directly through Guesty. It is set as a dedicated web page, but you can also embed the Booking Engine as a widget in any external website. See here an example of a Booking Engine.

Pro users: Once you create a Booking Engine, you can add upsells for guests to upgrade their stay (in Beta). The upsells will appear in the reservation check-out page.

You can skip the optional fields and stages in the Booking Engine creation setup, and return to edit them later. Also, in several parts of the setup, you'll be asked to provide the necessary information in English, as it is the default language of the Booking Engine. These fields can be translated into other languages later on in the setup.

Lite users:

Before creating a Booking Website, connect your Airbnb account and import your listings to Guesty. Once your listings are added to Guesty, follow the instructions below.

Create a Booking Engine (Booking Website for Lite users)

Follow the steps below or watch our video to create a Booking Engine.

Step by step:

  1. Sign in to your Guesty account.
  2. In the top navigation bar, click Growth mode.
  3. Click Distribution.
  4. Click the Guesty Booking Engine thumbnail.
  5. If you haven’t created a Booking Engine before, click Create your first Booking Engine on the main screen. Otherwise, click Create a new Booking Engine at the top right of the dashboard.
  6. In the “General settings” page, follow the on-screen instructions to add your business information to the relevant fields.

    Tip:

The recommended height for the logo is 60 pixels.

  7. In the “Select properties” page, select the properties you want to include in the Booking Engine.
  8. In the “Booking settings” page, under “Select how guests book”, click either Request to book or Instant booking.

Beta users can also offer manual payments via bank transfer or payment apps for instant booking. This requires manual payment collection and tracking. Reservations are marked as "Confirmed" but show a "Payment failed" status until manually updated to "Fully paid." You'll receive notifications in the "Payments" section for tracking purposes.

    Note:

When using message automations, include details for both bank transfer and credit card payments, as the system treats payment methods identically.

  9. Booking confirmation page: Choose between Guesty's pre-made template or create your own custom template with a title, message, and image. When offering both credit card and bank transfer options, you can set up separate templates for each payment method.
  10. Optional settings:
    • Search by location on map: Toggle one or both options to show guests the location of the property on a map.
    • Search and filter settings (booking widget): Choose which search features to display in your Booking Engine's search bar.
Beta users: You can allow guests to filter by the tags you added to your properties. Use indicative tag names that guests easily identify before activating this filter.
    • Guest information mandatory for booking: Toggle which details guests must provide when booking, such as phone number and special requests.
  11. In the “Company policy” page, select between Guesty's templates or your own for privacy policy and terms of service. Acknowledge Guesty's documents or input your custom content as needed.
  12. In the “Design” optional page, set your brand colors, homepage images, and text. If you skip this step, the default color theme will be applied.
  13. In the “Contact us” optional page, add your contact information.
  14. In the “Web analytics” optional page, you can connect your Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and Facebook Pixel ID accounts.
  15. In the "Languages" optional page, set the languages in which your Booking Engine can appear. The default language is English.
  16. Click Create Booking Engine.
  17. A pop-up will indicate that your Booking Engine is ready. Click either Continue to create a Guesty Website, or Go to the Booking Engine dashboard where you can preview your Booking Engine, change its settings, or delete it.
