SiteMinder acts as a channel manager that centralizes your listings, letting you manage them on various platforms.
When your Guesty account is connected to SiteMinder, Guesty automatically syncs nightly rates and calendar availability to SiteMinder. However, updates such as changes to listings or adding or removing listings must be made in both Guesty and SiteMinder. For every update, you’ll need to create a support ticket.
Important:
SiteMinder is designed for properties with multiple units in a single location, such as hotels or apartment complexes, and isn’t suitable for single-unit properties. In Guesty, these properties are referred to as “complexes”.
Connecting listings to SiteMinder
Follow these steps to connect your Guesty listings to SiteMinder. In addition, follow the steps to add new complexes from Guesty to SiteMinder.
- Create listings in SiteMinder: Create the corresponding listings in SiteMinder that you want to connect to channels supported by Guesty. Make sure to include the listings you want to connect within a property.
- Request the onboarding file: Contact us for the onboarding file, which contains codes to link the listings between Guesty and SiteMinder.
- Link listings in SiteMinder: Enter the codes from the onboarding file in SiteMinder to connect the listings.
- Creating units: Create the multi-unit and sub-units in SiteMinder. Only the multi-unit will be connected to Guesty, as sub-unit to sub-unit mapping isn't supported.
- SiteMinder's pricing model: The more units the user has per unique address, the cheaper the price will be.
Updating connected listings
Step by Step:
- In Guesty: Create, delete, or activate/deactivate listings as necessary.
- In SiteMinder: Add or remove the corresponding listings. To remove sub-units from a multi-unit listing, close or remove the sub-unit.
- Request the onboarding file: Contact us for the onboarding file.
- Re-link the listings in SiteMinder: Enter the codes from the onboarding file in SiteMinder to reconnect the updated listings.
Verifying sync and testing
- Schedule a live call: Reach out to Guesty’s Customer Experience (CX) team via phone or email to finalize the onboarding process, verify the integration, and generate new onboarding files when adding units.
-
Determine who will perform the testing:
- If a Customer Success Manager (CSM) or Onboarding Specialist (OB) is assigned, contact them to handle testing and ensure that rates and availability sync correctly between Guesty and SiteMinder.
- If no CSM or OB is assigned or involved in the communication, reach out to the CX team to perform the testing.
- Test the integration: Once the appropriate team (CSM, OB, or CX) completes the setup, they will test the integration to confirm that rates and availability sync properly between Guesty and SiteMinder.
