Smart Calendar Rules are triggered by confirmed reservations, including owner reservations. You can also apply these rules to manual blocks, which include preparation time blocks. By default, new Smart Calendar Rules are only applied to future reservations, leaving existing reservations unaffected.
Retroactive rules
To apply a new rule to existing reservations, select "apply retroactively" when creating the rule.
For example: If you add a rule that Listing A blocks Listing B, but Listing A already has a confirmed reservation, Listing B won't be blocked unless the rule is applied retroactively. |
The same logic applies when deactivating a Smart Calendar Rule.
For example: When you deactivate a rule, Listing A will no longer block Listing B, making Listing B bookable even if a reservation is confirmed for Listing A. Reactivating the rule won’t affect existing reservations unless you apply the rule retroactively. |
Direct rules
Smart Calendar Rules should be set directly between the "blocking" listing and any "blocked" listing.
For example: If Listing A blocks Listing B, and Listing B blocks Listing C, a confirmed reservation for Listing A will only block Listing B. To ensure that both Listing B and C are blocked when Listing A has a confirmed reservation, set a direct rule from Listing A to Listing C. |
