If you're a user who had RemoteLock connected with Guesty prior to June 2021: click here for mandatory and optional updates.

New users and those that originally signed up after June 2021: follow the instructions below to connect RemoteLock to Guesty.

RemoteLock eliminates many of the issues associated with managing property access remotely, including the hassle of key exchanges, the disruption of early check-ins and late check-outs, and the security risk of unauthorized access.

Once connected, you will be able to associate your Guesty listings with RemoteLock devices. New reservations assigned to an associated listing will receive a unique door code entry in the form of a PIN.

Tip:

Get in touch with RemoteLock to inquire about volume pricing for multiple property owners.

Sharing key codes with guests

In order to share the key codes with your guests you must set up Automated Messages that include the code variable. Follow the steps below.

  1. Create or edit an automated message to send to guests based on reservation confirmation or check-in. See more information here.
    • Schedule at least 20 minutes after reservation confirmation to allow time for the variable to populate.
  2. In your message content, use the variable {{key_code}}. See more information here.

If the code was not sent, follow this troubleshooting guide.

Tip:

If you're using a custom field in automated messages to send the PIN to guests, you can now use the "Key code" default variable. In Guesty, delete the variable from your Automated Message template and replace it with the "Key code" default variable.
