Creating a Guesty Booking Engine API instance

You can build your external website to manage guest bookings and integrate it with the Guesty Booking Engine via an API connection. The API integration allows you to pull data from the Booking Engine, such as checking your listing availability and creating reservations.

See our full Booking Engine API documentation.

You can create up to five Booking Engine API instances. If you have Booking Engine(s), you can create in addition four Booking Engine API instances (you can add unlimited number of Booking Engines). For a Sandbox environment, you may only create one Booking Engine API instance.

To set up an API integration with the Guesty Booking Engine, first, you need to create a Booking Engine API instance.

Follow the instructions below.

Step by step:

  1. Sign in to your Guesty account.
  2. In the top navigation bar, click the mode selector and select Growth mode.
  3. Click Distribution.
  4. Click the Guesty Booking Engine API thumbnail.
  5. Click Create a new API key at the top right.
  6. Enter a nickname for the instant token. and select "Request to book" or "Instant". Then, click Next.
  7. Select the properties you want to include in the Booking Engine. These properties will be available to book by your guests. Then, click Next.
  8. Click Save new API key.
  9. In the pop-up, click Copy text icon to copy the "Client Secret credentials" and "Client ID credentials" and share them with your developer.

The "Client Secret" and "Client ID" allow external developers to access the selected content on the specific Booking Engine API. Please make sure to share those keys only with trusted partners.
