Creating a Booking Engine API instance

You can build your external website to manage guest bookings and integrate it with the Guesty Booking Engine via an API connection. The API integration allows you to pull data from the Booking Engine, such as checking your listing availability and creating reservations.
To set up an API integration with the Guesty Booking Engine, first, you need to create a Booking Engine API instance. Follow the instructions below.

Step by step:

  1. Sign in to your Guesty account.
  2. In the top navigation bar, click the mode selector and select Growth mode.
  3. Click Distribution.
  4. Click the Guesty Booking Engine API thumbnail.
  5. Click Create a new API key at the top right.
  6. In the "API Key setup" screen, fill in a nickname for the instant token. Also, under "Booking options", select "Request to book" or "Instant". Then, click Next.
  7. In the "Assign properties" screen, select the properties you want to include in the Booking Engine. These properties will be available to book by your guests. Then, click Next.
  8. Click Save.

You will be redirected to a list of all Booking Engine API instances in your Guesty account. To the right of the relevant Booking Engine API instance, click the eye icon to display the token. Click the Copy icon to copy the "Client Secret credentials" and "Client ID credentials" and share them with your developer.

Important:

The "Client Secret" and "Client ID" allow external developers to access the selected content on the specific Booking Engine API. Please make sure to share those keys only with trusted partners.

Note:

For a Production environment, you can create a total of five Booking Engine sites or Booking Engine API instances. For example, If you have one Guesty Booking Engine, you can create only four Booking Engine API instances.
For a Sandbox environment, you may only create one Booking Engine API instance.
