Adding or editing a listing's cleaning fee

You can add a cleaning fee to a listing at any time. The cleaning fee will be added automatically only to new reservations before they are confirmed.

Important:

If a reservation is already confirmed when the cleaning fee is configured, it will not be added automatically. You can add the fee to a reservation manually.

Channel notes and limitations

To set different values for each channel individually, click "Set specific cleaning fees for each booking channel". Choose the relevant channel from the dropdown and fill in the relevant details.

Airbnb

When editing an Airbnb cleaning Fee, ensure that the amount does not exceed their maximum cleaning fee of 600 USD + 25% of the nightly price. Airbnb's minimum cleaning fee is 5 USD. Due to conversion rounding, for all other currencies, the minimum is 6 USD.

Agoda

For listings connected to Agoda, edit the cleaning fee in both Guesty and in the channel's account dashboard, ensuring they have matching values.

Booking.com

For listings on the rates & availability sync type, edit the cleaning fee in both Guesty and in the Booking.com Extranet.

For listings on the full sync type, edit the cleaning fee in Guesty and it will sync to the Booking.com Extranet.

Expedia

The cleaning fee is not synced and must be added or edited in Expedia. You can set it up in the rate plan level or on the listing level on Expedia Partner Central.

Please note if you set this up on the rate plan level, the name of the fee will be removed but the value and charging logic will stay intact.

Rentals United

The cleaning fee is static data that is not automatically synced with booking channels. Learn more.

Add or edit a cleaning fee

Step by step:

Sign in to your Guesty account.
In the top navigation bar, click the mode selector and select Operations mode.
Click Properties.
Click the relevant listing. If the listing is a multi-unit, manage this feature via the multi-unit's main unit, and the settings will apply to all its sub-units. Alternatively, configure the settings for a specific sub-unit.
In the left-side menu, click Pricing & policies and select Pricing.
In the "Basic fees" section, click Edit.
Under "Cleaning fee":
1. Enter the default value as a percentage or flat amount. If a flat fee, set as per night, per guest, or per stay.
2. (Optional) Click Set specific cleaning fees for each booking channel then enter the amount.
At the top-right, click Save.

Tip:

To charge more than one cleaning fee, for example a mid-stay cleaning, create an additional fee.
