You can process credit card transactions in Guesty by connecting to an external payment processor, such as Stripe or Hyp. Hyp supports only properties located in Israel and where payments are in ILS currency. You can connect multiple Hyp accounts to your Guesty account and you can use different payment processors at the same time, but each listing can only be connected to one account - so it can be connected to Hyp or Stripe, for example, but not both.
Create a Hyp account
If you don't have a Hyp account yet, start by creating one. You must have an account with a credit card company or other financial institution. If you don't yet have one, you'll be able to create an Isracard account via Hyp. Regardless of which financial institution your account is with, it must support online transactions.
Once your Hyp account is approved, you'll receive a terminal number and credentials to log into the Hyp dashboard.
Important:
Your Hyp account terminal must be set up to receive online transactions only, not fiscal. The terminal must support the Yaad Sarig integration and be able to process in ILS. Additionally, the terminal must support all cards, including international cards. We also recommend confirming with Hyp that the terminal is setup to support API.
Connect Hyp to Guesty
Follow the instructions to connect a Hyp account to Guesty. To connect multiple Hyp accounts to Guesty, repeat the process for each account.
- Sign in to your Guesty account.
- In the top navigation bar, click the mode selector and select Setup mode.
- Click Integrations and select Marketplace.
- Click the Hyp thumbnail.
- In the top-right corner, click Connect.
- If you already have a Hyp account, click Skip this step. If you don't, click Create account.
- Fill in the necessary details from your Hyp account:
- Merchant name: The account name as set up in your Hyp dashboard.
- Terminal ID: Provided by Hyp. This is the same number used to log in to your Hyp dashboard.
- User ID: Provided by Hyp. This is the same ID used to log in to your dashboard.
- API password: You need to set this up in your Hyp dashboard. Make sure you only have one password saved in Hyp.
- In the top-right corner, click Connect.
Assign listings to the Hyp account
If this is the only payment processing account you connected to Guesty, all of your listings will be automatically assigned to it, but if you connected more than one Hyp account or if you connected accounts from other payment processors as well, such as Stripe, you'll need to decide which account handles the payments for each one of your listings.
For each listing you assign to a Hyp account, be sure to also change the listing currency to ILS, or Hyp won't be able to process the payments. Additionally, make sure your listings have auto payments set up.
After completing the setup, we recommend adding a card to a reservation to confirm the setup was done correctly. If the card is saved, the setup is correct.
Managing the payments
Once your Hyp account is connected to Guesty and you assign listings to it, you'll need to be aware of what which payment-related aspects can be managed in Guesty and which in Hyp:
Manage in Guesty | Manage in Hyp |
---|---|
Auto payment rules Automated and manual charges Security deposit holds Refunds |
Transaction reporting Chargeback/dispute management Payouts and settlements |
