Canceling a failed payment

You can cancel a reservation before the payment was successfully charged, or if a guest's payment failed. You can cancel the payment from the list of payments on the relevant Reservation page. This allows you to recollect the payment if needed. Follow the instructions below.

Step by step:

  1. Sign in to your Guesty account.
  2. In the top navigation bar, click Reservations.
  3. Click the relevant reservation.
  4. In the banner at the top of the page, click Balance due/Payout.
  5. Find the "Payments" section.
  6. On the relevant payment line, click Actions, and then Cancel payment.
  7. In the pop-up, click Yes, cancel payment.

Tip:

You can add another payment method to a reservation at any time. If a payment has failed for the third time, "cancel payment" is not an option and you must add a new payment.
