On 15 May, we’re automatically transitioning users to Guesty's new roles system. This update simplifies permissions and ensures your team has the right access levels to manage your business efficiently. If an admin hasn't manually migrated a user by this date, we'll assign new roles that most closely match their current "Legacy" roles.

Role transition

The table below shows how legacy roles translate to new roles during the automatic migration.
If a user has multiple legacy roles, they will be assigned all the corresponding new roles listed in the table. For example, a user who is both a "Communication agent" and "Viewer" will be assigned both the Guest exp agent and Cleaner roles.

Key migration rules

To ensure a smooth transition, keep the following logic in mind:

Account admins

Users with the "Account admin" role will be assigned the Admin role only. Any other legacy roles assigned to that specific user will be ignored to prevent permission conflicts.

Assigned listings

In the legacy system, listings were assigned per role. In the new system, listings are assigned per user. During migration, a user will receive the combined total of all listings they were assigned to across all their legacy roles.

Advanced analytics

If your account purchased "Advanced analytics", any user with this permission will keep the role after the migration is complete.
