Troubleshooting: Common reservation upload issues

When you upload reservations to Guesty, you may encounter common validation or formatting errors. Use this guide to quickly review the required data standards and resolve issues so you can successfully upload your reservations.

Below are the most common issues and steps for resolution, relative to the relevant column in the reservations upload file.

Column Issue Solution
Property nickname The listing name in Guesty may include an extra space. Double-check that the property nickname matches exactly , and remove any leading or trailing spaces.
Dates The date format is incorrect. Enter all dates in the YYYY-MM-DD format (e.g., 2025-11-13).
Override calendar Using this option incorrectly can cause double bookings. Use the Override Calendar option only when it's absolutely necessary, and confirm availability before uploading.
Total amount paid The total of financial items does not match the “Total amount paid”. Confirm that the sum of all financial line items equals the total amount paid.
Fees and taxes Fees or taxes have a zero amount. Each fee or tax entry must have a valid amount greater than zero.
Amounts Special characters or comma separators are used in amount fields. Enter numeric values only; don't use commas, symbols, or special characters.
