Beta: Setting auto reviews for Airbnb and Vrbo

You can use Guesty's Auto Reviews feature to automate the process of posting guest reviews for your Airbnb and Vrbo reservations. For both channels, you select the star rating and the timing for your auto review to be sent. For Airbnb, you will also create a mandatory template message.

Before you begin

Requirements

  • The listing assigned to the reservation in Guesty must be the same as the listing that was booked on Airbnb or Vrbo
  • The listing must be connected with its channel counterpart
  • Auto Reviews must be activated on the listings that are connected with the channel counterpart
  • For Airbnb, the activated auto review must also include a template

How it works

Once the Auto Review settings have been configured properly, the Auto Review feature will be applied to:

  • Future reservations that have not yet been made
  • Existing reservations that are already confirmed but have not checked in yet

All Auto Reviews are posted after the relevant guest checks out.

By default, Auto Reviews are sent around midnight the day after they've checked out. You will have the option to delay the sending by more than one day.

For example: If a guest checks out on January 23, 2024, at 1:00 PM, they will receive the Auto Review on January 24, 2024, at 12:00 AM.

Activating a listing's Auto Reviews for Airbnb

Tip:

Ensure that you post good reviews in accordance with Airbnb's reviews policy.

Keep in mind, failure to leave guest reviews will lower your Airbnb ranking score.

We also recommend creating several templates to prevent multiple identical reviews.

If the listing is a multi-unit, Auto Reviews will be managed via the multi-unit's main settings, rather than via a sub-unit's settings.
In addition, ensure that sub-units are not connected with Airbnb as individual listings, as reviews are automated via the main listing.

  1. Sign in to your Guesty account.
  2. In the top navigation bar, open the mode selector, and select Operations mode.
  3. Click Properties
  4. Click the relevant listing.
  5. In the listing's menu, click Automation.
  6. From the drop-down, select Auto Reviews.
  7. Under "Auto reviews Airbnb", turn on the Active toggle to activate it.
  8. Select the default star rating to use for your review.
  9. (Optional) Change the number of days to delay the sending.
  10. Click Add your first template or Add another template.
  11. Enter the text. Learn how you can add variables to the template to personalize the reviews. For Auto reviews, you can only add the following variables: {{guest}}, {{guest_first}}, and {{listing_address_city}}.
  12. Click Save.

Activating a listing's Auto Reviews for Vrbo (Pro only)

  10. Click Save.

Deactivating a listing's Auto Reviews

Pro users Lite users

  1. Sign in to your Guesty account.
  2. In the top navigation bar, open the mode selector, and select Operations mode.
  3. Click Properties
  4. Click the relevant listing.
  5. In the listing's menu, click Automation.
  6. From the drop-down, select Auto Reviews.
  7. Under "Auto reviews Airbnb" or "Auto reviews Vrbo", turn off the Active toggle to deactivate it.
  8. Click Save.
