Tags help you organize your portfolio and categorize properties to group relevant information quickly. Use them to filter reports, reservations, and calendars. 

To filter sub-units effectively, add the same tag to both the main unit and the relevant sub-unit. If you only add a tag to a sub-unit, it won’t appear in search results when filtering by that tag.

Add a tag to a property

Follow the instructions below to add tags to a property.

Step by step:

  1. Sign in to your Guesty account.
  2. In the side navigation menu, click icon Properties.
  3. Select the relevant property.

    For multi-units, manage this feature via the main unit to apply settings to all sub-units, or configure a specific sub-unit.

  4. In the left-side menu, click Settings.
  5. On the right side of "Tags", click Edit.
  6. In the free text field, either type in your property tag or select from the dropdown list of existing tags.

    When adding a tag for the first time, the word (new) appears after it.

  7. Click Save.

Note:

When adding a tag to a multi-unit main setting, choose if the tag applies to all sub-units. Click Yes or No.

Remove a tag from a property

Follow the instructions below to remove a tag from a property.

Step by step:

  1. Repeat steps 1-5 above.
  2. Click X on the tag to remove it.
  3. Click Save.

Add or remove property tags in bulk

You can manage your property tags efficiently by adding or removing them across multiple properties at the same time.

To request a bulk change, first prepare your data and then send the data to guesty.

Prepare your data

Follow the steps below to prepare your CSV file.

Step by step:

  1. Download the property tags template.
  2. Enter the Guesty property ID in the "_id" column.
  3. Enter the specific tag(s) you want to add or remove in the "add" or "remove" columns. For multiple tags, separate them with a comma.
  4. Save the completed data file as a CSV file.
Send data to Guesty

Follow the steps below to submit your data file to our support team.

Step by step:

  1. Create a support ticket for Guesty.
  2. Select Guesty Feature as the "Ticket Topic".
  3. Select Property settings & reports as the "Guesty Feature".
  4. Enter one of the following subject lines:
    • API Bulk Request: Add New Property Tags
    • API Bulk Request: Remove Property Tags
  5. Copy the template below and paste it into the body of your ticket.
    • To add new property tags:

      Hi Guesty CX,

      Please create the tag(s) [Insert Tag Name] and add them to the listings provided in the attached file.

      Account Name/ID: [Insert Account Name or ID]
      Apply to: [Indicate ALL listings OR Active listings only]
      Special instructions or previous ticket with the same request:

      Thank you!

    • To remove property tags:

      Hi Guesty CX,

      Please remove the tag/s [name of tag] from the listings found in the attached file.

      Account Name/ID: [Insert Account Name or ID]
      Apply to: [Indicate ALL listings OR Active listings only]
      Special instructions or previous ticket with the same request:

      Thank you!

  6. Fill in the bracketed information.
  7. Attach your prepared CSV file.
  8. Click Submit.
