Lynx (formerly VirtualKEY)

Lynx is a home automation platform that enables property managers to control who has access to their properties at any given time.

Guest information is sent to Lynx as soon as a reservation is confirmed, and in turn, Lynx will send an email to the guest with information on how to set up their access. If the guest does not set up their key, Guesty will go ahead and send a reminder a week before their stay and every three days thereafter. Follow the instructions below to connect Lynx to Guesty.

Copy the Guesty API key

Step by step:

  1. Sign in to your Guesty account.
  2. In the top navigation bar, click the icon drop-down menu and select Setup mode.
  3. Click Integrations, then select Marketplace
  4. On the Lynx thumbnail, click Connect.
  5. In the top right corner, click Connect.
  6. Click the API Key to copy it.
  7. Click Ok.

Step by step:

  1. Contact Lynx with the API Key. 
  2. Request to activate the connection.

Sharing key codes with guests

In order to share the key codes with your guests you must set up Automated Messages that include the code variable. Follow the steps below.

  1. Create or edit an automated message to send to guests based on reservation confirmation or check-in. See more information here.
    • Schedule at least 20 minutes after reservation confirmation to allow time for the variable to populate.
  2. In your message content, use the variable {{key_code}}. See more information here.
