Why do some of my Vrbo listings appear on Expedia?

Vrbo is part of the Expedia Group. Through the Expanded Distribution Network Vrbo promotes eligible vacation rental listings across the Expedia Group brands and partner sites. This helps your property reach a wider audience of travelers who may not search directly on Vrbo.

Eligible listings may appear on the following platforms:

  • Expedia
  • Travelocity
  • Trivago
  • Travel Agent Affiliate Program (TAAP)
  • Expedia Group B2B partners (e.g., Delta, Revolut, and additional airlines, and loyalty programs)

Note:

  • Partnerships and distribution channels may change, and appearance on a specific site is not guaranteed.
  • For Vrbo users who switched to Guesty from another Property Management Software (PMS), listings can only be distributed to Expedia, Travelocity, Trivago, and TAAP.

Participating in Expedia's Expanded Distribution Network

To be automatically included in the Expanded Distribution Network, set your listing's booking policy to allow instant bookings. No further action is required from you.

If you notice that some listings aren't included, it could mean Expedia is not currently expanding its offering in the region where your property is located.

Understanding how reservations are affected

When a booking comes from Expedia or one of its partners, consider the following:

  • The reservation will still appear in your Vrbo account and Guesty.
  • The confirmation code will still begin with “HA-”, even though the booking came from Expedia and not Vrbo.
  • You can manage the reservation just like any other Vrbo booking,. This includes cancellations, modifications, payments, etc.
  • The option to send a message via Vrbo in the Guesty Inbox isn't available for reservations that originated in Expedia. Send messages from Vrbo instead.
  • There is no additional cost to you for bookings made through the Expanded Distribution Network. Your standard Vrbo commission applies.
