How does Vrbo validate a guest’s credit card?

Vrbo validates the guest's credit card before securely passing the information to Guesty.

When a reservation is made, Vrbo collects the guest's service fee by charging the credit card. If the charge fails, the guest receives an error message, prompting them to enter new credit card details. Vrbo will validate the credit card for the amount of the service fee only, and not for the total amount of the reservation.

Note:

As Guesty conducts a thorough validation process, adding the credit card to the reservation may still fail. In that case, you will need to retrieve new credit card details from the guest.
