The information in this article is relevant only for Guesty Lite users who started connecting Vrbo before 19 Feb 2024 and for Pro users.
Vrbo validates the guest's credit card before securely passing the information to Guesty.
When a reservation is made, Vrbo collects the guest's service fee by charging the credit card. If the charge fails, the guest receives an error message, prompting them to enter new credit card details. Vrbo will validate the credit card for the amount of the service fee only, and not for the total amount of the reservation.
Note:
The credit card might still fail when reaching Guesty if the reservation payout is too high. In that case, you will need to retrieve new credit card details from the guest.
