Pilot: Push reviews to HubSpot as custom object

This article explains how to sync guest reviews from Guesty to a HubSpot custom object. Once enabled, this workflow runs once a day to create records in HubSpot for reviews submitted in the last 24 hours. This allows your team to report on ratings, trigger campaigns, and maintain a history of reviews directly in HubSpot.

Before you begin

Before enabling the review sync, complete the following prerequisites:

  • Make sure you have connected your HubSpot account by following the steps in Connecting Guesty to HubSpot via Guesty Connect.
  • In your HubSpot account, create a custom object for reviews, for example, named “Reviews”, if you don’t already have one.
  • Add properties to your custom object in HubSpot for every Guesty review field you plan to link. It is best to create these HubSpot properties before you start linking fields in Guesty.

Recommended HubSpot property types

When creating properties in HubSpot, use field types that match the Guesty data you plan to sync.

Guesty value Recommended HubSpot type
Channel, Listing ID, Reservation ID, Review ID, Reviewer name Single-line text
Overall rating (raw or normalized) Number or Single-line text
Review created date Date (or datetime, to match how you store dates in HubSpot)

Important:

Do not link free-text Guesty values to HubSpot properties that use dropdown, checkbox, or radio selections unless every possible Guesty value is already an allowed option in the HubSpot property.

Understanding the review sync workflow

This workflow runs automatically to keep your review data in sync.

Workflow Trigger What it does
[Pilot] Push reviews to HubSpot as custom object Daily schedule (once per day) Loads Guesty reviews from the last 24 hours, including those from custom channels, and creates a record on your selected HubSpot custom object for each review.

This is a one-way sync from Guesty to HubSpot. The workflow only creates new records; it does not update existing review records in HubSpot, and it does not sync any changes from HubSpot back to Guesty.

Note:

Only the fields you link are sent to HubSpot. Unlinked Guesty fields are skipped.

What syncs and what does not

Syncs Does not sync
Guesty reviews created in the last 24 hours Older reviews outside the daily window (this workflow does not backfill historical data)
Reviews from standard and custom channels Updates to reviews that have already been synced to HubSpot
New HubSpot custom-object records for each review in the window Associations to other HubSpot objects like contacts or deals
Only the properties you linkeded under “Reviews” Changes made in HubSpot back to Guesty

Enable the review sync

  1. Sign in to your Guesty account.
  2. In the side navigation menu, click icon Integrations to open the dropdown menu.
  3. Select Marketplace.
  4. Open the HubSpot integration and go to the "Configuration" tab.
  5. Toggle on [Pilot] Push reviews to HubSpot as custom object.
  6. In the "Reviews" section, select your HubSpot reviews custom object from the dropdown menu.
  7. Link the Guesty fields you need to the corresponding HubSpot properties on that object.
  8. Click Save.

After the next daily run, you can check your HubSpot account to confirm that new records for recent Guesty reviews have been created on your custom object.

Link data fields

In the workflow settings, you can link Guesty data points to your HubSpot properties. The following fields are available to sync.

Portal linking label Guesty source Notes
Channel Review channel ID (`channelId`) Booking channel identifier
Guesty Listing ID Listing ID (`listingId`) Guesty property / listing ID
Guesty Reservation ID Reservation ID (`reservationId`) Related reservation
Review ID Review ID (`_id`) Guesty review identifier — useful for reconciliation in HubSpot
review_created_date Review created at (`createdAt`) When the review was created in Guesty
overall_rating_raw Raw review rating (`rawReview.rating`) Channel’s original rating scale
overall_rating_normalized Normalized rating (`contents.rating`) Guesty normalized overall rating
reviewer_name Reviewer name (`rawReview.reviewerName`) Name shown on the raw review

Note:

Each daily run creates new HubSpot records. There is no built-in step to find and update an existing review. We recommend linking the Review ID so you can identify duplicates or reconcile records in HubSpot if needed.
