Pilot: Self-service for owners to customize notifications

This article explains how owners can customize the push notifications they receive from the Owners Portal and the Owners by Guesty app. Owners can manage preferences for different types of alerts directly from their profile on both platforms:

1. Owner signs in to the Owners Portal or the Owners by Guesty app.
2. In the "Push notification settings" section, use the toggle next to a notification type to turn it on or off.

Available push notifications

Owners can control the following types of push notifications:

• New Announcement: Get alerts when you (the property manager) posts a new announcement.
• New Message: Receive notifications for new messages in their inbox, which includes both direct and automated messages.
• New Reservation Report: Be notified when a new reservation report is available to view.
• New Accounting document (Statements & 1099): Get alerts for new accounting documents, including owner statements and 1099 tax forms.
• New Document: Receive a notification when any other new document is shared. Learn more about managing documents related to an owner.

Important information

Keep the following in mind for owners managing their notification settings:

• Default settings
  By default, all push notification types are turned on. Turning a toggle off only stops future notifications of that type from being sent.
• Device settings
  To receive any alerts, owners must allow notifications from the Owners by Guesty app in their mobile device's main settings. If owners disable notifications at the operating system (OS) level, they won't receive any push notifications, even if they are enabled in their profile. • Additional contacts
  Additional contacts associated with an owner account inherit the owner's notification settings. Additional contacts cannot configure their own separate preferences.
