You may want to delete an owner, for example, if a new owner is taking over the property or if you're no longer managing the property. In cases where you're no longer managing the property, it's important to remove the listing and the relevant owner.
Owners that have an outstanding balance, or share ownership of a property can't automatically be deleted. You'll be redirected to the relevant page in Guesty to attend to the issue before you can proceed, as explained below.
If you'd like to remove an owner from a listing rather than delete them, you can unassign the owner from the listing via the owner's profile or the listing's settings.
Important:
Deleting an owner is a permanent action that can't be reversed. Once the owner profile is deleted, it can't be recovered.
Before you begin
- Before deleting an owner, be sure to cancel all owner stays with future check-in dates. If you delete the owner before canceling their future stays, you will not be able to cancel the stays and they will continue to block your calendar.
- You can't delete an owner with shared ownership. Learn how to remove an owner from fractional ownership before attempting to delete an owner.
Delete an individual owner
Follow the instructions below to remove an owner from your Guesty account.
Step by step:
- Sign in to your Guesty account.
- In the top navigation bar, click the mode selector and select Operations mode.
- Click Owners.
- Select the relevant owner.
- Click Delete owner at the bottom of the owner's profile. Confirm the action in the popup. Owners who meet all requirements are immediately deleted.
- A popup will open prompting you to take action for owners that don’t meet the requirements:
- For owners with an outstanding balance: Click Go to balances page to be redirected to the "Vendors balance as of today" page to take the required action.
- For owners with shared properties: Click
next to the relevant listing to be redirected to the "Property owner" page to take the required action.
- To close the popup click X.
- Once you have made the necessary action, return to the Owners profile page to start the process again.
The owner will be removed from Guesty immediately.
Delete owners in bulk
You can delete owners in bulk to save time. Follow the instructions to delete owners in bulk.
Step by step:
- Sign in to your Guesty account.
- In the top navigation bar, click the mode selector and select Operations mode.
- Click Owners.
- Check the relevant boxes to the left of the owners you want to delete.
- Click Delete.

Confirm the action in the popup.
The selected owners will be removed from Guesty immediately.
For owners that can't be immediately deleted due to an outstanding balance on one or more properties, or share a property, a side panel will open.
- For owners with an outstanding balance: Click Go to balances page to be redirected to the "Vendors balance as of today" page to take the required action. Only owners with balance discrepancies are displayed.

For owners with shared properties: Click
next to the relevant listing to be redirected to the "Property owner" page to take the required action.
Once you have made the necessary action, return to the Owners page to start the process again.

To close the popup click X.
Back to owners.
- You will be redirected back to the Owners page where you can proceed accordingly.
