Beta: Automating messages for Guesty Booking Engine extra services

Once you've created an additional fee, you can set the fee to be an upsell for an extra service on your Guesty Booking Engine and make it available for your guests to purchase.  

You can now add conditions to send automated messages based on your upsells. For example:

  • Send booking confirmation message to guest if they purchased a baby bed, providing instructions about where the baby bed is located and how to set it up.
  • Send booking confirmation message to cleaner if the guest purchased an additional clean, so they can prepare their schedule.
  • Send a message to guest two days before check-in if they didn’t purchase the breakfast package, offering it again as an enhancement for their stay.

Access your message automation

Step by step:

  1. Sign in to your Guesty account.
  2. In the top navigation bar, click the mode selector and select Operations mode.
  3. Click Automations and then select Messages.
    • To edit an existing automation: Click the vertical ellipsis to the right of the relevant automation and select Edit from the dropdown menu. 

    • To create a new message automation template: Click Add message automation in the top-right corner. 

Add message with upsell condition

Add a condition to trigger the sending of an automated message only if an upsell is or is not purchased. For purchased upsells, send specific information about that service. For upsells that are not purchased, offer it again to guests to enhance their stay.

  1. In the messaging automation, under "Messaging schedule", click Add message.
  2. Click Add condition then select Upsell from the dropdown.
  3. Select "is purchased" or "isn't purchased" from the dropdown.
  4. Fill in the rest of the fields, including the freeform message text.
  5. Click Save.
