After creating the check-in form in the guest app, we recommend scheduling an automated message to remind guests to complete it. Schedule the message to be sent before their check-in. For guests with pre-confirmed reservations (in "Inquiry" or "Reserved" status), you can also send the form or reminder manually.
Limitations
- Some booking channels block links in messages to guests if the reservation is not confirmed.
- Booking.com does not allow messaging links to guests.
- VRBO users may experience challenges with link delivery due to known technical limitations. It is recommended to reach out to VRBO support for additional guidance.
- Check-in forms can only be sent up to one day after check-in, after which the link will expire.
- Check-in forms should be sent post-confirmation, and users are advised to review each channel's official guidelines as they may differ.
- The recommended channels for sending the check-in form or Guest app link are SMS and email, as they typically support links. If you encounter any issues, contact us for assistance.
- If a guest has already filled out the form, it cannot be resent. Additional information must be collected via email or another communication method.

The check-in form is part of our guest app, which includes details about the guest's reservation, such as the confirmation code. The link you send opens the entire app, not just the form.
Send the form or reminder manually
Step by step:
- Sign in to your Guesty account.
- In the top navigation bar, click the mode selector and select Guest experience mode.
- Click Guest app.
- In the guest app page, click
to copy the link variable of the relevant app. This variable will turn into a link when sent to the guest in a message.
- Follow these instructions to create a message.
- Paste the variable of the guest app into the message, and send it.
Schedule the form or reminder to be sent automatically
Tip:
We recommend sending the first message at confirmation, not before or after.
If you're also sending a reminder, set it up to be sent after confirmation but before check-in, and add the "Check-in form submitted" condition - set to "No" so only guests who have not completed the form receive the reminder.
Step by step:
- Follow steps 1-4 in "Send the form or reminder manually".
- Create the automated message.
- Add the link to the form in the automated message as a variable, which is the name you gave the guest app when you created it ("My Guest App 1" in the example below). Here is an example of a message you can send:
Hi {{guest}},
We look forward to welcoming you to our {{listing_name}}. We kindly request that you complete the check-in form in the guest app before your arrival.

Send an automated message for completed check-in forms
You can create an automated message that will be sent upon completion of the check-in form by following the steps below.
Step by step:
- Create or edit an automated message.
- Under the "Add conditions" section, click +Add condition and select Check-in form is submitted from the dropdown menu.
- Toggle on Check-in form is submitted .
- Fill out the other relevant details, then click Save.
- Click Save at the top-right corner of the page, then click Apply changes.
