Mailchimp integration errors

Important:

This integration is only available for Pro users and existing Mailchimp users.

Mailchimp users now have the option to export a contacts data directly to Mailchimp. See full details here.

If an error occurs during the exporting process, you will receive an email notification. Common error messages and resolutions are as follows.

  • We could only sync X/Y contacts from your saved view to Mailchimp
    • Reason 1: Some contacts in Guesty are missing email addresses; only contact with emails can be exported to Mailchimp.
      • Resolution: Add the filter "guest has email" to the custom view in Guesty.
    • Reason 2: “Test” emails, such as “test@test.com”, are not allowed in Mailchimp and will be excluded.
      • Resolution: Remove these emails from your saved view.
    • Reason 3: If your view includes duplicate emails, they will be exported individually from Guesty and then merged by Mailchimp. 
  • We could not sync your saved view
    • Reason 1: Your Mailchimp account plan package is not set up for the amount of data you're trying to export.
      • Resolution: Check your account plan and try again.
    • Reason 2: When creating a new audience in Guesty, the data fields do not match default fields in Mailchimp.
      • Resolution: Create the audience again using only Mailchimp default fields, no custom fields.
    • Reason 3: You try to sync more than Mailchimp's limit of 50,000 contacts
      • Resolution: Split your view to less than 50k contacts each. You can sync multiple views to the same audience in Mailchimp if needed.
  • We cannot continue to sync your saved view
    • Reason: Your Mailchimp account plan package reached its limit for the amount of data you're trying to export on a weekly basis.
      • Resolution: Check your account plan and try again.
  • We could not sync your saved view to Mailchimp because we identified that the audience named "[audience name]" on Mailchimp was deleted
    • Reason: The audience was deleted in Mailchimp by a user in your account.
      • Follow the steps to create a new audience in Guesty and export.
