Common Issues When Connecting a Vrbo Account to Guesty

The information in this article is relevant only for Guesty Lite users who started connecting Vrbo before 19 Feb 2024 and for Pro users.

When connecting a VRBO account to Guesty, there are a few common issues that you may encounter. See the list of common issues and how to handle them below.

The Integration page is empty

If the Vrbo thumbnail in the Distribution page is grayed out with a Connect button, it means that you haven’t started the connection process yet. The integration page itself will be empty.

There is an account but no listings

Part of the integration setup process is to publish listings to the account. In order to connect listings to Vrbo, you are required to connect:

  • A minimum of one listing for "Net New" (no existing Vrbo account) connection type
  • All listings for "PPM to IPM" (switching from Vrbo directly) and "Software Switch" (switching from another PMS) connection type

You are able to abandon the setup process, before publishing the listings. In that case, the integration page will contain an account without any listings:

  • All 4 listing status columns display zero
  • The account status is “Action Required”
  • The account connection progress is “Add your listings"

Simply click the “Add your listings” button in order to publish the minimum required number of listings. Otherwise, Vrbo will not receive the data for the account and listings in their feed.

There is an account with listings, but the SSO form was not submitted

You may have not completed the SSO form for one of the following reasons:

  • You are not aware that there's a form to complete
  • You did not complete the form because you have additional questions
  • A valid credit/debit card was not entered, which is required by Vrbo
  • There may be an internal error on Vrbo's end, preventing you from completing the process

If you did not submit the Self-Service Onboarding Form yet, you need to complete it and wait for Vrbo’s Onboarding team to contact you in order to start the onboarding process.

There is an account with listings, the SSO form was submitted, but the account is not connected

An Onboarding Specialist from Vrbo will contact you within 3 working days to match each active Vrbo listing to a property in Guesty. You must be responsive to Vrbo's communication. If unresponsive, the process will be canceled by Vrbo automatically after 5 days.
