Guesty Locks Manager: Managing codes per lock

With Guesty Locks Manager, you can manage every smart lock you use remotely – all from one dashboard – with an automatic, unique code generator and full visibility into lock data. See more details here.

For each lock, you can create and manage codes for your team members and view detailed information about a lock’s generated codes, and a log of when codes are used. Follow the steps below.

Access the lock info page

Pro users Lite users

Step by step:

  1. Sign in to your Guesty account.
  2. In the top navigation bar, click the mode selector and select Operations mode.
  3. Click Field operations and select Locks manager.
  4. In the Locks page on the “Linked” tab, click on the relevant lock.

View lock status

Displayed at the top of the lock info page is the battery life, online status, and occupancy status. Learn more about monitoring lock alerts.

Create team member code

  1. Next to "Team Member Codes", click New Code.
  2. In the pop-up, enter a desired code, ensuring the following:
    • The code is not already in use for another team member
    • The code length is supported by your lock settings
  3. From the drop-down, select the code category (e.g. Backup, Cleaner)
  4. Enter a description (optional)
  5. To set a temporary schedule for the code’s validity, activate the “Expiration settings” toggle.
    1. IMPORTANT: If “Expiration settings” remains toggled off, the code created will not expire.
  6. Click Save.

Tip:

To edit a team member code, click the pencil icon to the right of the code. To delete a code, click the “x”.

View guest codes

The following information is displayed in the Locks Info page:

  • Currently staying
    • Guest code
    • Guest backup code
    • Reservation (click to view)
    • Guest name
    • Check-out date and time
  • Staying in the next 30 days
    • Guest code
    • Reservation (click to view)
    • Guest name
    • Check-in date and time
    • Check-out date and time

Tip:

You can view the guest code, backup guest code, and lock health status in each reservation. Learn more.

View activity log

In the left hand menu, click Activity Log. Here you can see the events for when a door was unlocked. The guest or team member name associated with the code is displayed along with a timestamp.
