To understand this issue, bear in mind two things:
- When you set an Automated Message to be sent at confirmation, it will be sent exactly at confirmation.
- There are other automatic processes in Guesty that are triggered by confirmation. For example, for multi-unit listings, you need to decide whether reservations made on that unit are assigned to its sub-units automatically or manually. If you choose automatic assignment, this process will be triggered by confirmation.
In such cases, the Automated Message will most likely be sent before the additional automatic processes that are also triggered by confirmation of that reservation. In our example, the Automated Message was sent as scheduled, but did not reach the correct sub-unit, because it could not: The sub-unit had not yet been assigned to the reservation.
To prevent this from happening again, we recommend setting the Automated Message to be sent at least one hour after confirmation, to allow enough time for the other processes to be completed before sending the message.
