Guesty receives Vrbo messages via the reservation's proxy email. If a guest has multiple reservations, Guesty receives a unique proxy email for each but merges them into one thread in the Guesty Inbox.
Additionally, when messages are sent from the Guesty Inbox to an unconfirmed Vrbo reservation, personal information such as email addresses, phone numbers, company names, website links, and any marketing material content is hidden in the Vrbo inbox for privacy reasons.
Company names
If you send an automated message with a Guest App link and the link is hidden, you likely messaged an unconfirmed reservation. This happens when a guest messages from an unconfirmed reservation regarding a confirmed one.
To resolve this:
- Set the guest’s private email as the primary address and send the link to their private email.
- Ask the guest to message from the confirmed reservation.
