Pending Auto Payments are processed together, as a batch, at hourly intervals. Review the scenarios below to understand why an Auto Payment can remain in "pending" status for one to three hours.
The hourly batch is usually processed around seven minutes after the hour. For the examples below, we'll say that the Auto Payments batch runs every hour on the hour, at 10:00, 11:00, etc.
Tip:
A payment's status can be viewed in the reservation. Click Balance due at the top right to view the particular payment’s line item.
Reservation confirmed after hourly processing batch
A listing includes a "payment at confirmation" Auto Payments rule. A reservation for this listing is confirmed at 11:01, missing the 11:00 Auto Payments batch. The first payment attempt made for this reservation will be at 12:00, 59 minutes after confirmation.
Initial Auto Payments attempt failed
Guesty will attempt to process a payment three times before a transaction is moved to "Failed" status.
In this scenario, a listing includes a "payment at confirmation" Auto Payments rule. A reservation for this listing is confirmed at 10:05. The first payment attempt is in the next Auto Payments batch, at 11:00, and the payment fails. The second payment attempt happens at 12:00, and it fails again. At 13:00, a payment is attempted for the third and last time.
The final payment status, whether "failed" or "successful", is completed two hours and 55 minutes after the booking confirmation.
