You can cancel an Airbnb reservation on both Airbnb or Guesty.
The process and flow to cancel a reservation are similar on both platforms — including the reasons and sub-reasons.
Before you begin
Keep the following important information in mind before you cancel an Airbnb reservation:

You can cancel an Airbnb reservation in Guesty, but this request will need to be approved by Airbnb.
The process will take a few days to be verified and confirmed by Airbnb.

You'll need to contact Guesty to cancel a reservation for the following situations:
- If you'd like to free up the calendar space as soon as possible, so that you can accept new reservations from other channels.
- A reservation is already canceled in Airbnb, but not in Guesty (this typically occurs when the listing isn't connected to Airbnb anymore).

In order to cancel active reservations or reservations with check-ins for the upcoming 24 hours, you may have to contact Airbnb first.

Airbnb has several reservation statuses and actions.
For example, giving guests time to update their payment method or to provide missing documentation.
As a result, there may be a delay between the time a reservation is submitted, and the time it is confirmed. Learn more about these statuses on Airbnb's Help Center.
Canceling an Airbnb reservation in Guesty
Follow the instructions below to cancel an Airbnb reservation in Guesty.
Step by step:
- Sign in to your Guesty account.
- In the top navigation bar, click the mode selector and select Operations mode.
- Click Reservations.
- Click the relevant reservation.
- Click the three dots, located on the top-right of the "Summary" field.
- A pop-up window with reasons for cancellation will be displayed.
- Select your reason for canceling:
- Certain reasons for cancellation will have the option to leave a comment for Airbnb and/or the guest.
- Certain reasons for cancellation might have a cancellation fee.
- Review and confirm that the reservation details are correct.
- Click Confirm to complete the cancellation request.
The cancellation will automatically be sent to Airbnb.
