Linking an Expedia property to Guesty: Explained

This article accompanies our instructions for linking an existing Expedia property with an existing Guesty listing. During this process, you will need to complete three steps. Read about each step below.

Important:

If it has not been done already, set Guesty as the Property Management System (PMS) for the property on Expedia Partner Central. If you have more than 20 properties, contact us. We will ask Expedia to set Guesty as the PMS for all of them at once on your behalf.

Tip:

Set up the Guesty listing before starting the linking process, ensuring that the Guesty listing has the same listing type as the Expedia property.

1: Select property

Retrieve the Expedia property you want to link to Guesty:
  1. Enter the Expedia property ID:
  2. Click Next.

2: Select policies

For the property retrieved in step 1, set up a default rate plan:
  1. Choose a cancellation policy.
  2. Enter the cancellation fee.
  3. To include meals, turn on the include meals in this rate plan toggle and select the relevant meals.
  4. Click Next.

3: Connect listings

Link the property retrieved in step 1 with a matching Guesty listing based on the room type.


A room type that is not a complex

For an Expedia room type that is not a "complex", the matching listing type in Guesty is a single-unit or mutli-unit:
  1. Under the Guesty icon, click Matching property in Guesty.
  2. Select the relevant single-unit.
  3. Click Connect.


A room type that is a complex

For an Expedia complex, the matching listing type in Guesty is also a complex. It can be comprised of multi-units and/or single-units:
  1. Under the Guesty icon, click Matching property in Guesty
  2. Select the relevant Guesty complex or create one.
  3. For each Expedia room type that is linked to the Expedia complex:
    1. Under the Guesty icon, click Select a Guesty listing.
    2. Select the relevant Guesty listing.  
    3. Click Connect.
Once an Expedia unit is linked, it can take up to 30 minutes for the property to update on Expedia, and you will still need to manage certain aspects from Expedia.

Important:

Any Expedia room that is not linked to a Guesty listing by the end of this process will be deactivated on Expedia until it is linked.
