Assigning a listing to a business model

Accounting by Guesty is a premium feature available to Pro users only. Please contact us to discuss activating it.

A listing needs to be assigned to a business model for it to be included in our Accounting solution and be part of reports and statements, for example.

When you assign the listing, you need to decide if you want the business model to apply to the listing's existing reservations.

Follow the steps below to assign a listing to a business model.

Note:

Once a listing is assigned to a business model, revenue share will no longer apply to it.

Step by step:

  1. Sign in to your Guesty account.
  2. If the listing you want to assign to the business model has exactly 1 owner assigned to it, proceed to step 3. If not, follow these instructions to assign an owner and then proceed.
  3. In the top navigation bar, click the mode selector and select Accounting mode.
  4. Click Business models
  5. Click the business model you want to assign the listing to. 
  6. In the top-right corner, click Assign listings
  7. In the pop-up, select the listing(s) you want to assign to the business model. 
  8. In the pop-up, decide if you want to reprocess the listing's existing reservations:
    • If you want the business model to apply to all of the listing's existing reservations, click Assign and reprocess.

      Important:

      We recommend making the "Reprocess starting date" the beginning of the current month, to avoid disrupting past revenue or owner statements that have already been sent to owners, for example. 

    • If you do not want the business model to apply to any of the listing's existing reservations, click Assign. The business model will only apply to new reservations the listing gets from now on.
    • If you only want the business model to apply to some of the listing's existing reservations, click Update and follow these instructions to reprocess those reservations. Only reservations that you reprocess manually will be recalculated based on the business model.
